My first question to anyone that tries to sell me advertising is, "How much extra money will this advertisement make me?" Over the years, the answer has always been, "lots" but in reality that is very seldom the case.

Many years ago, we had a program change made on our computers that would actually measure the results of each advertising piece that we used. The program will tell us exactly how many extra units we sold over the advertising period and how much extra money we made with that campaign. Well, it was a real eye opener for us. We made many changes since then. The biggest thing that I learned was never to be in a hurry with advertising. Do it right the first time. Think it through. I would love to share some of the things I have learned with you. There is so much to say about it. Not that we have found the magic formula to success, but we have eliminated to a great extent the magic formula to failure.
