The "S" Word

Well, it is official. Competition is coming into town. The big "S" (Staples) wants a bigger piece of the pie. They may presume that we will just roll over and die when they come in, but are we worried?

No, not in the least. Staples Big Box strategy is to sell to consumers and small businesses. It seems that these segments of the market are the only ones willing to pay the higher prices that come with their retail store. Most businesses however, are concerned about the bottom line and go where they can get the best service for the least amount of money. The independent office supply store has traditionally filled that spot. When Staples tried, they failed. So in a last ditch attempt to get that customer base, they have bought their competition out. This allows them to bring the prices up but gives us a wide open market place. So, to our faithful and long term customers, we are planning to be here for many years to come. Thank you for your support during these past 50 years. And thank you to the many that have stopped me in the store and on the street. Your words of encouragement and support are overwhelming. We are committed to earning your trust and your business in the years to come.
